On New Years Eve a fire ripped through a car park in Liverpool, adjacent to the Liverpool Echo Arena causing total devastation. A lot of people are still thinking of the images on the news from Grenfell tower however on this occasion thankfully it has been reported that no one was injured in the fire.
The fire has been reported to have started in the engine of a Land Rover which spread and destroyed the whole of the car park.
Could the installation of a sprinkler system prevented this devastation – fire experts state that it would definitely have limited the spread of the fire and given more opportunity to it being put out.
Should sprinkler systems be a mandatory inclusion on more buildings? This terrible event has added more weight to the argument.Category - Safety
